Dermaroller Therapy Procedure
Our practitioner will use a Dermaroller medical device to produce thousands of micro-medical needle-columns in the skin. Each column will penetrate into the dermis of the skin and will be approximately 0.1mm in width. The column will close rapidly enabling the skin to recover quickly – often in the same day. Your practitioner will use a topical anaesthetic to numb the skin making the procedure comfortable; it will normally take up to 30 minutes for the topical anaesthetic to work and 20 – 30 minutes for the  Dermaroller Therapy procedure.

After a  Dermaroller Therapy procedure your body will start to naturally regenerate and repair the skin, working below the surface in the dermis. This takes time as new collagen is formed, new skin cells are generated and blood supply is enhanced. It can take up to 6 weeks before visible signs of regeneration and repair are seen and the process will continue over the following months, providing you with a natural and long lasting enhancement.
Our practitioner will normally recommend that your therapy consists of a series of 2 – 3 Dermaroller procedures with approximately 6 weeks between them. In the treatment of acne scars and other types of scarring it may be necessary for your practitioner to extend your  Dermaroller Therapy

.
Dermaroller Therapy– after procedure skincare
Immediately after your  Dermaroller Therapy you will look as though you have moderate sunburn and your skin may feel warm and tighter than usual. This will start to subside after 1 to 2 hours and will normally recover within the same day with only slight redness the following day.

What is a Dermal Roller?

The Dermal Roller is a hand held titanium roller consisting of 192 tiny 1.5 mm long needles.

How does the Dermal Roller treatment work?

The needles cause the skin to mount an injury response and force the skin into a repair mode. This starts the rebuilding process where the skin produces new collagen and elastin to smooth fine lines and wrinkles, the skin thichens to protect itself, forms new skin around the scar tissue, strenthen capillaries and improves the blood supply to the skin.

Is the Dermal Roller treatment painful?

Depends on your pain threshold, most people say that is uncofortable but not painful, The skin is numbed before treatment either with local anaesthetic cream emla which may last up to an hour after the treatment.

How does the skin look and feel immediately after the treatment?

The skin may feel and look as if it is slightly sunburned for the next 12-24 hours. It may also feel hot, this will subcide within a few hours and if it persits, just apply cold compress or aloe vera gel.

Are there any risks with the Dermal roller treatment?

No, the treatment is very safe and will only be performed by our highly experienced beautician.

Many skin conditions can be treated effectively, such as fine wrinkles, pigmentation, open pores, stretch marks, acne scarring, chicken pox scars and post-surgical scars.
